Reaction Acting is a fun drama warm up game for groups of any size.

The leader stands in front of your group and acts a wide range of 'moments in time', with appropriate emotions, expressions and reactions.  Actions might include saying hello to someone, calling out, sighing, yawning, pointing excitedly ... the more variety the better.

The leader pauses after each action so everyone can immediately copy.  Then the leader continues with the next action while the group watches, ready to copy again.

The Reaction Acting game is very flexible.  It can even be played in pairs with each of you taking a turn leading.

Leaders need to be able to think and act quickly and creatively to keep the game moving.  This makes leading a very effective acting exercise for teens.  In a class situation, especially with younger children, often your teacher will lead.

Reaction Acting helps you to focus, and to react naturally and instinctively.  You'll find yourself using your face, body and voice to act in ways you might not have thought of yourself.
